Why Little Treasures at St. John?
We will help your “Little Treasures” grow and develop!
Love Learning New Things. Our teachers encourage laughter and sharing while children develop a love
for learning that we believe endures for years to come.
Learn with the Best Teachers. We believe our preschool teachers are the most nurturing educators in the area, as evidenced by our recent recognition as one of the 50 best private schools by the U.S. Department of Education.
Assemble a Solid Foundation. Day by day, our incredibly dedicated teachers work with your young child to methodically develop and then gradually strengthen a solid and lasting foundation of knowledge, imagination, and self-confidence.
Be More than Just Another Student. Our teachers and staff will know your child’s name, their budding learning style, and their unique personality, and we will engage them daily with focused expertise, unwavering commitment, and genuine love.
Little Treasures Four Year Old Program
Pre-K Curriculum (Full and half day available)
The SJRCS Pre-K 4 program uses the Little Treasures integrated reading and phonics program as its core curriculum. Big Math for Little Kids is the program we follow to give a comprehensive and challenging mathematics curriculum. It naturally integrates mathematics into everyday activities including music, art, movement, reading, and writing throughout the children’s classroom routine and studies. Social studies, science, art, and music are all included as part of this cross-curricular program.
Each day starts with prayer and circle time. Each classroom is equipped with its own tot-sized bathroom facilities. Students can play outdoors in safety on an enclosed tot-lot playground. A certified teacher works in each classroom along with a teacher’s aide.
Religion is taught each day. The regular religion program called Allelu, is specifically written for four-year olds. This religion series is a comprehensive early childhood program, designed to nurture and enrich the faith and spiritual lives of primary age children. The developmentally appropriate curriculum is carefully planned so that, at completion, the children are ready to continue their faith and academic journey into Kindergarten and beyond.
Specials: Media/Library, Music, and PE
Half Day begins at 8:15a.m. until 11:30a.m.
Full Day begins at 8:15a.m. until 2:30p.m.
Little Treasures Five Year Old Program
Kindergarten Curriculum (full day)
The SJRCS Kindergarten program uses Superkids as a comprehensive core reading program. No reading program more effectively teaches children how to read, so by the time they leave the primary grades they are fluent readers and nothing can hold them back. Superkids is built on systematic phonics, balances all five essential elements of reading, integrates reading, writing, spelling, and grammar, and combines rigor with fun.
“Go Math” is the program that SJRCS follows for our Kindergarten math curriculum. This program combines fresh teaching approaches with components that offer everything needed to address the rigors of new standards and assessments. “Go Math” helps children interact with lessons in new ways as they record their strategies, explanations, solutions, practice, and test prep right in their books. Go Math contains a practical, point-of-use support that is built into each lesson so all learners, advanced children or those needing extra support, can achieve success in the classroom.
