2007/08 Child
Nutrition Program
The Archdiocese of Baltimore provides the Child Nutrition
Program to SJRCS. The menus are pre-set by the Archdiocese.
The plan is a basic 5/3 plan. That means that we are required
to offer 5 main food groups (protein, grain, vegetable,
fruit, and dairy) in every lunch. The student is required
to take at least 3 of them. Three servings out of the
5 offered is all that is needed to qualify as a lunch.
These choices are left up to each student according to
their preference.
Per the Archdiocese of Baltimore
Child Nutrition Program, there will be no ice cream for
sale in the school cafeterias until further notice.
Allergy/Special Needs
If you have a child with an allergy please forward any
information the staff needs to ensure your child’s
safety in the cafeteria. If you feel more comfortable
speaking with me in person, please let me know and arrangements

Tickets
We will be using the ticket system again this year. In
order to simplify things tickets will be available for
purchase in bundles only. Cash and checks should be sent
in with the student and clearly marked with student’s
name, room number, if they are buying that day, and if
any siblings are buying that day also. Tickets will be
available in the following bundles only:
10 tickets - $25.00
20 tickets - $50.00
30 tickets - $75.00
40 tickets - $100.00
Cash is always accepted and tickets are not a requirement.
Unfortunately we are not automated and I have no way of
maintaining family accounts at this time. If you send
in cash and are not purchasing tickets, it can be for

Charging
a Lunch
A child is allowed to charge a lunch if they forget their
lunch or
ticket/money. When they charge they will receive a full
lunch and they can
choose between the "A" or "B" lunch.
A child is only allowed to accrue two
charges. Those charges must be paid in full before they
are allowed to
charge another full lunch. |
Food
Prices
Every day we serve an “A” lunch and 2 “B”
lunches. The “A” lunch is the main offering
for the day. The ”B” lunch is always the
same, your choice of hot dog or PBJ. All lunches include
a drink of choice (bottled water is .10 extra).
