This year our school will celebrate its 18th annual Spring Fair. The Spring Fair began in 1990 when a small group of parents launched the idea to raise money for a new school. The Fair, as it is fondly referred to, took place on the grounds of the FSK mall with carnival style rides, games and food. The profits were small but the spirit of our “fair pioneer families” was great. All had a wonderful time and a St. John’s tradition began.
Over the years the Spring Fair has grown to include a number of events, which take place throughout the second half of the school year, and has become our school’s largest fundraiser. The events, which fall under the umbrella of the Spring Fair, include the Gala Auction, the Monsignor Echle Memorial Golf Tournament, ushering at the Preakness at Pimlico Racetrack, the St. John’s 5K, Basket Bingo, and the culmination of it all – Fair Weekend! on the grounds of SJRCS, is fun for the entire family and includes carnival style games, crafts, blow up rides, food, entertainment, $10,000 raffle, fireworks, a live and silent auction and much, much more!
The Spring Fair truly embodies the volunteer efforts of the parents, teachers, administrators, students and friends of SJRCS. The funds raised directly benefit our students, but the fair does even more than that. It truly captures the unique spirit of our school community. Come on out and join us at the many events of the Spring Fair. Participate and volunteer. You will have a great time!!! |

April 12 |
"April in Paris" is the theme of this year’s Spring Fair - Gala and Auction to be held at Martin’s in Walkersville. An evening featuring both live and silent auctions, food, fun and dancing will take place. Ticket information available soon. |
May 12 |
Monsignor Echle Memorial Golf Tournament at Muskat Ridge in Meyersville, one of Frederick County’s premier Golf Courses. |
May 17 |
Usher at the Preakness at Pimlico Racetrack and earn money for the school. See the second leg of the Triple Crown up close. |
May 24 |
St. John 5K Run UTICA DISTRICT PARK (New location). Certified course open to all runners. Official times and prizes will be awarded. |
May 30 |
Bingo in McElroy Hall, featuring Vera Bradley bags and Longaberger baskets. A great night out for the entire family. Refreshments available. |
May 31 & June 1 |
Fair Weekend at SJRCS. Fun for the whole family. Come on out and celebrate the spirit of our St. John’s community. |
SPONSORSHIP
The Spring Fair activities have been highly successful partly due to contributions from businesses and individuals who support Catholic education opportunities. Past sponsors include local businesses, parents and alumni of SJRCS. Monetary sponsorship levels range from a $150.00 golf hole or fair game sponsorship to a $7,500.00 platinum sponsorship. Please consider a tax deductible donation for this year's fair activities. Contact the Fair Chairs to discuss other opportunities to help.

PREAKNESS - Beth Molnar, Chair
On May 17, St. John's heads out for a day at the races at Pimlico Racetrack in Baltimore. Parents and friends of SJRCS hop on the bus and will serve as ushers at the Preakness. We have a great view of the races and the school earns money for each person who ushers at the race. Grab your friends, place your bets and join us for the second leg of the Triple Crown.

5K RUN - Lisa Hickman, Chair
The St. John Cross Country 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run will take place on May 24th at
UTICA DISTRICT PARK (New location), 10200 Old Frederick Rd (across 15 from Lynfield Event Complex). T-shirts guaranteed to all pre-registered 5K runners. Prizes and medals will be awarded. Family members and friends needed to volunteer.

BINGO - Bob & Barbara Craig, Co-chairs
Longaberger baskets and Vera Bradley bags will be featured at this year's Bingo on Friday, May 30th in McElroy Hall. Come join us for a new twist on the ever popular Bingo!! A great night out for the whole family.
